Dewberry Farm - Our annual pumpkin patch trip

Every year we really look forward to going to the pumpkin patch to get our Halloween pumpkin.  (This year, 3 pumpkins, as we could not choose just one.)  So October 1st we all headed out to Brookshire, Texas to Dewberry Farms for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  What is so neat about Eli and Brady at this age is that they are still young enough to have a blast, but old enough to understand where they are going and what they are doing and to be really excited about it.  We definitely made the best of every moment out here on the farm!

We spent a lot of time on the rope swing.  Eli did a great job at swinging out over the hay, and Brady did a great job trying.  Brady thought it was hilarious to hold on to the rope and fall off of the hay.

Eli and Brady both got a chance to feed some of the animals.  They weren't as scared this year as they have been in the past, so this was a great experience.

In case it is hard to tell, this is Brady standing on the stall of a big black pig.  Here is sleeping on the floor.

Our annual family picture at the pumpkin patch.  Usually, they have bales of hay and pumpkins here to sit around, but I guess they aren't doing that this year.  Here's our family of 5!
Bill, Major, Brady, and Eli on the wagon to go to the pumpkin patch.  Major was pretty fussy the entire time.  There are very few pictures of him because he was crying most of the trip!  I know it will be different next year!
Look at the fields of pumpkins!
 Eli, with his chosen pumpkin...
 Brady with his chosen pumpkin...
But wait, Daddy has a chosen pumpkin...What are we to do?  None of them would give up their pumpkin, so we decided to just go ahead and get 3.  Next year, this can't happen...One is enough!!
The only shot I could get of them in the pumpkins without Major crying.  Eventually, I'll get him looking at the camera.  Poor Eli was wrestling an alligator trying to keep Major in his lap.  This is one squirmy kid!  And when he is fussy, look out!
Here we are on the way out of the pumpkin patch.  What a great day!
After the pumpkin patch, we always go to Cracker Barrel to eat before heading home.  On our trip home I turned around and saw all 3 boys asleep in the back seat.  Proof that they had a great day!
