It's Easter time! We have so many wonderful Easter traditions. First, we dye and decorate Easter eggs the day before Easter.
Then, the boys decorated our table with their finished eggs. This year, they made place settings with the eggs. They put each person's name on an egg, and placed that egg on a place mat. They did this all by themselves, and it was really good, too!
Then, Easter morning, we go on a Easter egg hunt in the backyard! The boys were up at 4 waiting for the Easter bunny - they were so excited. I put them back to bed...4 is too early! :)
"Please Daddy, get up! The Easter Bunny came and we want to go hunting!"
The Easter Bunny brought some toys for the boys as well. They got right to work building their "Dinosaur Park" and "African Savannah".
Then we enjoy an Easter Sunday service. Since Major slept through the hunting festivities, I took a picture of him when we got to the church building. He loves to sleep in...an 8:30 service is too early for him. :)
Our traditional family Easter photo...
Here I am with our traditional Lamb Cake. It is a red velvet cake to represent Jesus' blood, and white on the outside to represent the cleansing of our sins. Jesus has risen! He has risen indeed! PS: This also happens to be the first year that the cake has actually stood up and not broken apart! YAY!
Gran Betty and Big Daddy with Brady, Major, and Eli.
This year it was my job to make Easter dinner. Major and I got to work on lunch, while Bill took the older boys to the second service at church. (Second service was more of a play depicting the death and resurrection of Jesus instead of a traditional service.) We were very proud of Eli and Brady being so good for two worship services. It was such a wonderful blessing to hear them both pray and sing with their hearts! For lunch we had ham, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, scalloped potatoes, and rolls. Yum, yum!
