Atlanta Weekend - Braves Game and Six Flags

June 14-15 we took the boys on a weekend vacation to Atlanta.  We went to Six Flags over Georgia, spent the night in a hotel, and went to an Atlanta Braves game for Father's Day.  It was a great weekend! The boys and I had free tickets for Six Flags because of a reading program at school, and the boys haven't ever been to an amusement park (that they can remember), so we thought it would be a good time to take them.  The pictures are all out of order, so please just bear with me...
This first photo is of where we ate lunch on Father's Day, Hard Rock Cafe.  For me, Hard Rock has a special place in my heart because it was the first American food I had (in London) after 4 months of living in Italy (at Harding University's program over there, I studied in Italy for a semester while at college). Anyway, sadly, it turned out to be bad food, small portions, really loud music, and totally overpriced.  I guess I've changed a lot since college. :-)
This next picture is a still from that Bill's dad took while watching ESPN that night.  The Braves were on TV and we were on ESPN! Pretty cool! You can see Bill clearly, I'm to his right holding a whiny Major.  Yep, that pretty much sums up my night.
Major, Eli, and Brady at the game.  Again, Major pretty much sums up my evening.
The hotel we stayed in had a pool, and the boys were in it every minute they could be.  It is so neat to watch them having so much fun.
The picture with the semi truck is in front of the Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta.  We didn't get to go inside, but we couldn't miss this photo op with downtown Atlanta in the background.
I dropped off Bill and the older boys several hours before game time so that they could try and get autographs.  They were able to get a few, although they aren't any players that I know.  Eli got Jared Weaver's signature (a pitcher for the Angels). Brady got a signature from Cam Bedrosian (another Angel's player).  The Angels are Eli's favorite team and the Braves are Brady's favorite team, so they had a good time rooting against each other.
Bill and the boys at the Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta from the 1996 Olympics.

There will be a lot of Six Flags pictures coming up...lots of standing in lines and riding rides...lots of great family time! I did get Eli to ride one roller coaster with me, it was a wooden one and very rickety.  That was the only roller coaster he rode.  But I was proud of him for getting on one! My boys are the most adventurous of little guys!

Sleeping in a hotel is always fun! Here are Brady and Eli looking at their baseball cards and Major in his make-shift bed of two chairs pushed together.

This picture is of Major shooting imaginary arrows with his imaginary bow at his brothers.

While daddy and big brothers tried to get players' autographs, Major and I walked around the ball field.

What a great weekend with very special memories! The boys loved Six Flags and rode tons of rides, and they loved the ball game and getting pop corn and Sprite, and staying at a hotel and swimming in the pool, and walking around downtown Atlanta and touring the site of the 1996 Olympics.  It was a really great time.  I'm so thankful we were able to have this family weekend.
