The day after we all got out of school for summer break, we headed out for Washington DC. We stayed in a really nice hotel and got up early to see the sights. First stop, the national mall where you can see the Washington Monument, the Capitol Building, and all the Smithsonian Museums. Major's favorite was the Museum of Natural History where he got to see all sorts of dinosaur bones! The boys had their first experience riding the metro and we walked for miles and miles. It was the best time!
Pictures (in order): Boys in the hotel in DC, in front of the capital on the National Mall, another shot of the capital building, Supreme Court, T-Rex (museum of Natural History), riding the bus, Lincoln Memorial, view of the Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument from the National Mall (this picture is out of place), Bill and Rachel at the Lincoln Memorial, boys in front of the Washington Monument the capital is behind the monument if you look really close, World War II Memorial (3 pictures), in front of the White House (Donald Trump is president at the time), riding the DC metro, and Washington Nationals Baseball Park (3 pictures).
New York pictures: When in New York, we only went to see a Yankees game (6 pictures). That brief experience of driving in New York was enough for me! Haha!
Boston pictures: We stayed with Bill's sister, Sara, and her family while in Boston. We had lots of good cousin playtime. Major and Micah (2 1/2 years old) playing swords, Major holding Noah (2 1/2 months old), all the Moore cousins together (Eli - 11 1/2, Micah - 2 1/2, Major - 5 5/6, Noah - 2 1/2 months, Brady - 9), Eli holding Micah with Major and Noah in the background, Major Brady and Noah, Moore boys eating pizza at Faneuil Hall in Boston, Moore boys eating monster sized ice creams. Those ice cream cones were so big, people were asking to take pictures of them! Then we walked part of the Freedom Trail and saw the Old North Church, a statue to Paul Revere, and the site of the Boston Massacre. It was a fun day site seeing in Boston! The last 4 pictures are of Bill, Eli, and Brady at the Boston Red Sox game. Boo Sox!
New Hampshire pictures: After we spent a couple of days in Boston, we drove up to New Hampshire to show the boys where Bill grew up. Our first stop was Bill's old high school, Kennett High School. (4 pictures) We drove the boys around and showed them Bill's old house where he grew up on Tasker Hill, and his old house where his family moved when he was in college (1997). His parents lived there until they moved to Texas in 2008. The next pictures are of Conway Scenic Railway, where Bill spent many fun times as a child. Then we went to see Bill's childhood best friend, Greg, at his shop he owns called Frye's. The picture with the big moose is from our hotel, the Grand Conway Hotel.
Cooperstown, New York, Baseball Hall of Fame: Our last stop was at the Baseball Hall of Fame. Hours and hours of baseball memorabilia. The boys went on a scavenger hunt to find different items in the Hall of Fame. Their prize? A pack of baseball cards and some gum. We were gone for a total of 10 days and it was the absolute best time. There were no mishaps or bad attitudes. It could not have gone any better. It was the best trip we've ever taken!
