Christmas Eve, it's finally here! The boys have been counting down the days all month and are so ready for opening presents on Christmas Even night! Our tradition is to open gifts from family on Christmas Eve, and then see what Santa has brought on Christmas morning.
While I was making dinner, Bill read to the boys. Their favorite Christmas-time book is "The Berenstain Bears Christmas Tree." All 3 of them basically have it memorized.
Christmas Eve Dinner: this year we let Brady pick the meal and he chose Round Steak Spaghetti, corn, and bread. Yum, yum!
After dinner, Bill and I tried to clean up the dishes a little bit. Eli was so excited, he ran laps around the house to expel some energy. I took a picture on one of his laps around. :)
Next, daddy organized the gifts into piles for each person. The boys watched in anticipation of what was to come.
My babies on Christmas Eve night with all their gifts: Eli (9), Brady (6 1/2), and Major (almost 3 1/2)
Since we open gifts youngest to oldest, Major got the first gift of the night.
It was a dragon! He is very much into anything knight or king related. I am the princess and he is constantly saving me from various dragons and bad guys. So Bill and I got him a dragon to rescue future princesses.
Next is Brady. He got some really cool blue shoes from Gran Betty and Big Daddy.
Eli's turn! He got a whole bag of clothes from Gran Betty and Big Daddy...pants...shirts...socks...he is set for sure!
Me getting ready to open my gifts.
Bill and the Bible verse plaque I gave him. It is our family's theme verse. "What does the Lord require of you, oh man? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
King Major and his new crown.
Eli loves everything baseball and football. Even notebooks.
Brady received a money bank with 3 slots...one for spending...one for saving...and one for church contribution. Then he looked on while Bill opened some baseball cards.
Major and a new dragon book.
The boys and their new fishing poles from Bill and myself. They have been begging to get to go fishing. Now they can!
Brady loves his football action figures to play with. This one was from Aunt Sara and Uncle Alex.
Daddy and Brady showing off all their new packs of baseball cards. Bill and the boys are scheming to open up a baseball card shop when the boys grow up, so they are adding to their collection.
Eli got some baseball figurines to play with.
Daddy, Eli, and Brady opening up their packs of cards they received on Christmas Eve.
Major playing with his new dragon.
Next on the tradition list is to watch the movie, "The Polar Express". The boys got bowls of snacks and watched this Christmas favorite for our family.
After the movie, its time to set out the reindeer food so that the reindeer know where to bring Santa.
Then Daddy reads, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to the boys.
Finally, the boys put out cookies and milk for Santa. Time for bed! Santa is on his way!
