A Day in Destin, Florida - July 24, 2014

On July 24th, we had our "last day of summer fun day". Since the day before Eli started kindergarten, we have done something fun with the family on the last day of summer before school starts. This year, school starts really early (August 7th) and we wanted Bill to be able to join us, so we took a mini-vacation to the beach on July 24th.  Destin, Florida is about 3 hours away, so we left early in the morning, got there before lunch, and stayed until after dinner time.  It was the perfect amount of time for fun, sun, and family time.

Here are Major and Brady having a good time burying Eli in the sand.

Major wasn't real fond of the waves, he spent most of his time digging and playing in the sand.
Eli, Brady and Daddy playing in the ocean. I think Eli and Brady would have stayed out there longer, if we had let them! They loved the water and the waves.

After a day at the beach, we went to Fudpuckers for dinner. We chose this place because they have live alligators in a gater pit in the middle of the restaurant. The boys loved it!
Yes, I took a picture of myself. I wanted proof that I was actually at the beach as well. :)

Our last picture of the trip, we got to hold a live alligator! It was so cool! Here are Bill, Eli, Brady, Rachel, and Major. This is actually a picture of a picture. We had this made as a souvenir for our trip. It was a really great day and a wonderful time as a family before the craziness of football and school starts up!
