October 2020

October brought pumpkins, Halloween, and early voting for the 2020 presidential election. The first image is of Eli and Brady during homecoming week. Today was class color day - Freshmen wore pink and 7th graders wore white. Brady is also sporting his cast from his broken leg.

Major is the last boy to get to go trick or treating, so that means only one costume this year. He chose a red ninja. Eli and Brady stayed at home handing out candy while Bill and I took Major out trick or treating. Because of the virus, very few kids actually went trick or treating, so every house gave Major handfuls of candy. His quote was, "Coronavirus has been very good to me." Hahaha.

For the first time, we took a little mini vacation during our fall break this year. We went to Delray Beach, Florida for a couple of nights and Bill and Brady fished, while Eli and Major and I walked, toured the town, and went to the beach. I believe we may start going to Delray Beach for our Memorial Day getaway instead of Lake Okeechobee, but we will have to see. There is a lot more to do at Delray Beach than there is at Lake Okeechobee.

October 24th, we went to a pumpkin patch and found a pumpkin for our family, then we went and did some shopping for my 41st birthday. I received some Kendra Scott earrings. Very pretty!

Brady was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this month. We are very proud of his accomplishments and hard work!

I took Brady with me to early vote in the 2020 presidential election. The race was the incumbent, Donald Trump, vs. Democrat Joe Biden. I allowed Brady to use my vote and he voted for Trump. Biden would end up winning the election in November, and only time will tell what this will mean for our nation.

Last, we have Halloween! The big boys handing out candy and Major trick or treating. I guess this is now the new normal. It is sad when they grow up, but I am thankful for the memories! Happy Halloween!
